Kim Kardashian and Kanye West made a rare public appearance together this weekend as they came out to support their daughter, North West, during an important moment in her young music career.
North, 13, performed her first solo headlining concert at The Vic Theatre in Chicago on Saturday, September 5. Both of her parents attended the show, although they watched the performance from separate areas of the venue.
The concert was a major milestone for North, who is beginning to build her own identity as a young musician. She performed songs from her debut EP “N0rth4evr”, along with an unreleased track that reportedly included a sample of one of her father’s songs.
Kim Kardashian Cheers From the Audience
Kim Kardashian appeared to be enjoying the night and shared moments from the concert with her followers on Instagram Stories.
Videos from the event showed Kim watching and cheering for her daughter from one side of the theater. Fans also shared footage of the crowd celebrating North’s performance.
Kim has previously spoken about supporting North’s interests and helping her explore different creative activities. Music has become an important part of North’s relationship with her father, who has also helped guide her as she develops her own style.
Kanye West Also Shows His Support
Kanye West, who grew up in Chicago, was also at the concert. Videos from the evening showed him watching North’s performance and recording parts of the show on his phone.
The former couple appeared to keep their distance during the event, with Kim and Kanye seen on opposite sides of the theater. Their appearance together was nevertheless notable because of their highly publicized divorce and separate lives.
For the night, however, the focus was on their daughter and her performance.
A Big Step for North West
North’s solo concert comes after her planned summer tour with rapper Molly Santana was canceled. The tour was expected to include multiple dates, but those shows were called off before the planned start.
Despite that setback, North has continued to perform. She previously appeared at music events and has also performed alongside her father.
Her first solo headline show in Chicago gave her a chance to take the stage on her own and show audiences what she can do without relying on her famous parents.
The young performer has already attracted significant attention because of her family background, but her growing interest in music suggests she wants to develop a career of her own.
Family Comes First
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West finalized their divorce in 2022, and they continue to share four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. Although the former couple have moved on with their separate lives, they have continued to support their children.
Their appearance at North’s concert showed that both parents were willing to put their differences aside for an important family moment.
For North, having both parents in the audience made her first solo headline concert even more memorable. As she continues working on her music, the event could become an important early milestone in what may be a long career in entertainment.
